Close to one thousand people gathered at Montreal's Place des Arts on Monday for Je Vois Montreal, I See Montreal — an initiative to breathe new life into the city.
Over the past few months, people have submitted their proposals to help revitalize Montreal.
Today, the conference will look over and discuss 150 of those ideas.
The project was initiated by BMO Financial Group president, Jacques Ménard.
Ménard said on Monday that the city isn't living up to its potential.
He said the conference is about finding a way to attract more people to Montreal, and convincing them to stay.
Montreal Mayor Denis Coderre announced Monday that an office to oversee the project will be created, and it will be led by former Parti Québecois MNA Diane de Courcy.
