Rogues Roost bought by PEI Brewing Company

Rogues Roost has been open for 15 years and will stay at the location on Spring Garden Road
The Murphy Group of Restaurants from Prince Edward Island has purchased the Halifax brew pub Rogues Roost.
Kevin Murphy said the deal was reached Monday with owner, Doug Johnson, who's been in the brewing business for three decades.
Murphy says Rogues' 15 staff, including the brewmaster, Lorne Romano, will stay on, and the beer won't change.
"Right now we're looking at the opportunities that we can work with the Rogues brand," he said. "They have great beers and how we can expand that not only into Nova Scotia but bring the Rogues Roost brand to Prince Edward Island."
Johnson says the sale opens up the possibility Rogues beer could eventually be bottled by the Murphy's P.E.I. Brewing Company and sold in liquor stores in the region.
Rogues Roost has been open for 15 years and Murphy says it will stay at the location on Spring Garden Road where a major development is planned in the next couple of years.
The purchase marks Murphy's second expansion into Halifax. The Gahan pub opened in Historic Properties at the site of the former Hart and Thistle pub earlier this summer.
