Twice defeated Winnipeg mayoral candidate still says her message was 'the right one'
The sound of vacuuming droned through the empty rooms of Judy Wasylycia-Leis' campaign headquarters Thursday.
The twice-defeated mayoral candidate said she'll be focusing on simple tasks after her dramatic loss to Brian Bowman.
"I'm going to clean my house ... which is an absolute disaster from all the meetings we've had," she said.
She has no regrets.
"I think our message was the right message," she said. "People want to see a city that works," she said, repeating her campaign slogan.
Wasylycia-Leis said again, as she did in her concession speech Wednesday night, she won't run for mayor again, but she will keep her eye on city hall and do some volunteering.
"Probably continuing some of my international work and capacity-building in the area of democracy, and encouraging women and young people to run for politics," she said.
The former NDP MP and MLA said she has lots of projects to keep her busy.
