From Sept. 22 to Oct. 23, CBC Ottawa will visit the 23 electoral wards in the city of Ottawa to get the inside track on the issues people are talking about on the eve of the upcoming municipal election.
Candidates running in Barrhaven:
  • Ian Bursey
  • Jan Harder
  • Syed Hussain
The CBC Street Talk team was in Barrhaven, Ward 3, on Wednesday, Oct. 15 to speak directly to voters and ask: What would make your neighbourhood a better place to live?
Jan Harder, who has represented the ward in some capacity since 1997, is running for re-election. She is being challenged by Ian Bursey, a tradesperson, and Syed Hussain, who previously ran in the Knoxdale-Merivale ward in 2010.
CBC Ottawa asked all the candidates running for city council to record a one-minute pitch and tell voters why they think they're the best candidate for their ward. The pitches below are from those who participated in this project.
