Mr. Dressup died Tuesday. The actor who played the beloved children's TV character had had a stroke.

Fred Penner is another well-known Canadian children's entertainer. He spoke about his friend, Ernie Coombs:

"He will always be there. He is part of Canadian history and, in some ways, it is a time of celebration for his life and incredible work.

"But he will be missed."

Coombs produced more than 4,000 episodes of Mr. Dressup over a 30-year career. He was 73 when he died.
