Former students of residential schools are being offered complimentary seats to the Royal Winnipeg Ballet's upcoming production of Going Home Star — Truth and Reconciliation.
The production is inspired by a story based on Canada's residential school experience. Shows will run at the Centennial Concert Hall Oct. 1-5.
There's a limited number of complimentary seats available, and they are being offered on a first come, first served basis.
Those who want to reserve seats for survivors are asked to contact the RWB by Sept. 29.
The ballet company also announced a pay-what-you-can evening on Oct. 2 to give patrons an opportunity to see the performance at a reduced rate. A donation of $20 is suggested.
Pay-what-you-can tickets can be purchased at the concert hall between 5:30 pm and 7:20 p.m. on Oct. 2.
