A Calgary man has been charged in connection with a woman’s death in the Mission neighbourhood on the weekend.
Police were called to a residence in the 200 block of Holy Cross Lane S.W. on Sunday afternoon where they found a woman in her 40s dead.
Officers took a person of interest into custody at the scene.
A 24-year-old man is now charged with second-degree murder, police said on Monday.
Investigators believe the two were in a relationship and the homicide was related to their domestic situation.
An autopsy is scheduled for Monday. The victim’s identity will be released after that, police said.
The death is Calgary’s 26th homicide of the year.
