Raw pork from 2 Alberta firms recalled over possible E.coli contamination

Possible link to E.coli-related illnesses in Alberta under investigation

Some raw pork products sold by two Alberta companies have been recalled over possible E.coli contamination.
And officials are investigating whether they are linked to a recent outbreak of E.coli-related illnesses in the province.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says that no one should consume, serve or sell any raw pork sold by V & T Meat and Food in Calgary and Hiep Thanh Trading in Edmonton between the following dates this year:
  • V & T Meat and Food - between July 14 and Sept. 2 inclusively
  • Hiep Thanh Trading - between July 10 and Sept. 3 inclusively
CFIA says the affected products have only been distributed in Alberta.
If people find the pork in their homes, they are asked to throw them out or return them to the place of purchase.
Alberta Health Services and CFIA are also working to enusre that the products are being removed from the marketplace.
