The biological mother of a nine-year-old girl whose body was found in a vehicle near Sundre has been charged.
The remains of Amber Lucius were found on a rural road on Tuesday.
The RCMP say an autopsy is still trying to determine the cause of death.
"It is expected that they will conclude the autopsy investigation later today," said RCMP in a release.
Laura Coward, 47, of Millet, Alta., has been charged with break and enter and abduction in contravention of a custody order. She is expected to appear in court on Monday in Didsbury.
RCMP say the young girl's death is suspicious and they are hoping to press charges.
Some residents in Sundre say the girl's death has shocked the town.
"It's scary. But there had to be something behind it and eventually they're going to find out what happened," said Helen Bryan.
