Divers will resume their search today for a man who fell into the Red River Friday.

Off-duty officer tries to save man in Red River, but unsuccessful

Rescue crews were called to an area around the Provencher Bridge around 2 p.m. yesterday after an off-duty police officer saw a man in the river in distress.

The captain of a Splash Dash Tour boat, who tried to help the man, suffered a heart attack.

He is reportedly improving in hospital.
