Stantec is consolidating all five of its Edmonton locations into a new location in the downtown arena district.
The design firm announced on Wednesday that it has signed a lease with the Katz Group and WAM Development Group.
Preliminary designs are underway. However, the company will not reveal the exact location or other details until a news conference scheduled for late August.
Earlier this year, the City of Edmonton announced that two-thirds of its staff will be moved into a downtown office tower built next to the new arena, on the site of the old Staples store.
The city will lease 350,000 square feet for 20 years in the 27-floor building.
The tower will be built by the EAD First Street Building Corporation, which is a partnership between the Katz Group and WAM Development Group.
