A 24-year-old man refused to provide a statement after being shot in each thigh in the ByWard Market early Sunday morning, Ottawa police said.

Shots were heard on George Street near Cumberland Avenue around 2:30 a.m., police said.
A man, found with two gunshot wounds, was taken to the hospital in serious condition, Ottawa paramedics said.
