Toronto residents may have noticed a new line on their property tax bill this year – the transit expansion levy.
The tax, which will cost the average homeowner about $13, was voted on in 2013 in order to raise $1 billion to pay for the city’s portion of the Scarborough subway.
However, with this being an election year, the future of the subway is still uncertain.
