6 escape from garage fire in Steinbach

The cause of the fire is not yet known, Steinbach Fire Department officials say
Steinbach firefighters were called to 1 Cypress Place Sunday at around 8:30 p.m. in response to a garage fire.
The Steinbach Fire Department said in a press release Monday the fire had spread to the adjacent two-story house by the time they arrived on the scene.
Six people escaped the home without injury.
The cause of the fire is still unknown, and officials estimated the damage to be in the $350,000 to $400,000 range.
