17-year-old male had allegedly stolen vehicle and attempted to hit SQ officers with it in Ste-Adèle, Que.
A 17-year-old male is dead after being shot by provincial police following a car chase in Ste-Adèle, Que., about an hour north of Montreal.
His death was confirmed late Wednesday evening by Montreal police.
According to police, it all began around 1 p.m. ET, when the Sûreté du Québec responded to a call about a stolen car.
The resulting car chase ended on a road near Augustin-Norbert-Morin High School, where at least one shot was fired.
No students or school staff were injured.
As per standard protocol, the Montreal police force was called in to investigate because the shooting involves the SQ.
