Province giving applicants an extra six months to ask for financial relief
The province is extending the deadline for flood-affected businesses to apply for financial assistance to recover from this summer’s disaster.
Small and medium-sized businesses damaged in this summer’s floods now have until June 30 to get applications in to the Alberta Flood Recovery Programs.
The original deadline was Dec. 31.
The loan and interest rebate programs are available to small businesses, agricultural producers and not-for-profit organizations.
“The extended deadline will give these organizations the time to properly determine and apply for the support they need to help their businesses recover,” said Finance Minister Doug Horner in a statement.
Organizations are encouraged to contact their financial institutions or the Agriculture Financial Services Corporation (AFSC) to determine their eligibility for the programs.
