Crown, defence had agreed teen should be sentenced to time served, probation
The sentencing of a teen girl who pleaded guilty to helping run a prostitution ring is being held off until January.
The girl, now 18, was 16 years old when she and two other teen girls were arrested and charged in 2012.
The Crown and defence made a joint submission in court Tuesday that the teen should be sentenced to one year of time already served and two years of probation. They're also asking for a weapons ban, a DNA sample to be added to a databank and extensive counselling.
The Crown also wants the girl to have a curfew of 9 p.m. for six months, and to have no contact with her two co-assused, two victims, a victim's mother and another teen facing similar charges in a separate trial.
Justice Diane Lahaie said she will make her ruling on Jan. 17, 2014.

The court heard a victim impact statement Tuesday from one of the teen victim's mothers.
The woman, who can't be identified in order to protect the victim, said her daughter is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder and has trouble sleeping at night.
Another girl who was 15 at the time of her arrest is expected to be sentenced on Dec. 20. She has also pleaded guilty.
The alleged ringleader, who was also 15 when she was arrested, has pleaded not guilty and her trial is not yet over.
