West St. Paul mayor assaulted outside his home

Manitoba RCMP are investigating an assault last week on the mayor of West St. Paul, a rural municipality outside Winnipeg.
CBC News has learned that Bruce Henley was badly beaten by two men on Oct. 16.
RCMP said they were called that day to a home in the West St. Paul area, where they found a "53-year-old male elected official" assaulted outside his home.
The victim was taken to a hospital in Winnipeg with non-life-threatening injuries, RCMP stated in a news release.
No arrests have been made in the case to date. Anyone with information about the case is asked to call East St. Paul RCMP at (204) 667-6519.
