International hip-hop artist and Toronto native Drake visited a Toronto HMV music store on Friday evening for a meet-and-greet and autograph session to promote his new album, Nothing Was The Same.
Fans lined up in front of the store on Queen Street West — some waiting 24 hours — for a chance to meet their music idol.
Clad in a hockey jersey with Wayne Gretzky' number, 99, Drake arrived a little after 6 p.m. and began signing copies of his album.
Many fans were excited to see the star back in his hometown.
"Drake is one of my favourite artists, and he's also a Torontonian," said one female fan. "He supports his city, so I feel like his fans should support him as well."
The autograph session is expected to last several hours.
