A second man wanted in connection with a severe beating at the Calgary Remand Centre last summer is now in custody.
Russian student Denis Telyakov, who was in Calgary studying English, was in remand last August on a charge of uttering threats — a charge that was later dropped.
He was badly beaten and kicked in the head, leaving him with permanent injuries.
Police arrested Telyakov's cellmate, 21-year-old Kei Hu Mang, on Friday in the northwest community of Ranchlands and charged him with aggravated assault.
Another former cellmate, Justin Brett Decoux, was arrested last month. He is also facing an aggravated assault charge.
