Thousands of Paul McCartney fans packed Winnipeg's Investors Group Field on Monday night to see the former Beatle in his first performance in the Manitoba capital in 20 years.
Just before the sold-out concert began, Mayor Sam Katz presented McCartney with the Key to the City.
"We are thrilled to present Sir Paul with the Key to the City," Katz stated in a news release Monday evening.
"Not only have his songs touched generations of music fans, his many years of working with charitable organizations has set a tremendous example of caring and humanity for us all."
