Raymond Lillington says he's been buying lottery tickets for more than 40 years
The lucky owners of a $3.2-million winning lottery ticket sold in Cape Breton’s Victoria County have come forward.
Raymond Lillington of Dingwall, N.S., bought the 6/49 ticket for Wednesday night’s draw.

Lillington said there was nothing unusual about his purchase and that he has been buying lottery tickets for more than 40 years, with no big wins.
When he checked his numbers Thursday morning, his luck changed.
"My wife always said it was a waste of money," he told those on hand at the Atlantic Lottery Corporation office in Moncton Friday afternoon, while his wife Gaye laughed in the background.
After checking his numbers online, Lillington said he couldn’t believe his eyes. He called the ALC’s office in Moncton to double-check.
"I play all the major lotteries and some scratch tickets. I had a feeling that someday I might be lucky enough to get it," he said.
Years ago, Lillington promised his son if he ever won the lottery, he would be the first to know.
"I called him and he thought something was wrong. He didn’t believe me," he said. "I said, ‘You'd be the first to know, didn’t I?’"
He said he believes his big win was meant to be.
"I believe there’s something out there that makes things happen, for good or worse. I always said that if God thought I needed something better in my life, he’d give it to me — and he did."
Cabot Trail Food Market in Cape North, N.S., will receive a one per cent seller’s prize for selling the winning ticket.
