Jay Smith, a guitarist best known for playing with Matt Mays, died on Wednesday while the Nova Scotia band was on tour in Edmonton.
"We are completely devastated. However, in our heart of hearts we know that we need to play on," wrote Mays on his Facebook page.

The band played its scheduled show in Calgary on Wednesday night
It said all proceeds from the next few shows will go to Smith's two children.
Friends of Smith are planning the Jay Smith Memorial Benefit Concert — tentatively set for Apr. 7.
All funds raised will be donated to Smith's family, including his two young children, according to the Facebook event page.
Smith was found dead in a hotel room. Foul play is not suspected.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced yet.
