Alberta's Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Unit steps in after receiving complaints
The province’s Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods Unit (SCAN) closed two homes in a Calgary fourplex for three months after receiving complaints about drug activity at the property.
The fourplex is in the 7700 block of 41st Avenue N.W.
"The outcome of this investigation is a reminder to owners that they are accountable for the activity occurring at their property," said SCAN manager Billy Kerr.
"We will continue to work with residents to ensure the safety of their neighbourhoods, while also encouraging owners and landlords to take responsibility for their property."
This is the second community safety order SCAN has issued to the property owner.
The people living there have been evicted and a fence will be installed around the units until the middle of April.
