Cases span 1990 to 2006; 15 unsolved homicide cases with rewards of $50,000 or more
Ottawa police are offering rewards of up to $50,000 in seven more unsolved homicide cases.
The cases span a period from 1990 to 2006 and they are:
- Arash Raffiqi - 2006
- Douglas Stewart - 2004
- Christopher Smith - 1996
- John Brow - 1996
- Carrie Doloris Mancuso - 1995
- Sophie Filion - 1993
- Melinda Sheppitt - 1990
The three oldest cases are suspected former prostitutes found dead.
Police installed a new public rewards policy in October 2011 for homicide cases, crimes against persons, the location of missing people and large property crimes.
They said the conviction of serial killer Camille Cleroux in the murders of three Ottawa women illustrated that justice can be found years after a death.
Police are now offering rewards for 15 unsolved homicide cases in the Ottawa-Gatineau region.
Anyone with information in any of these cases should call Ottawa police at 613-236-1222, ext. 5493.
