Baseball bat used in fight between drivers

A 27-year-old Edmonton man faces charges after allegedly using a baseball bat in what police are calling an incident of road rage.
The altercation occurred around 8 a.m. Thursday after two vehicles nearly collided in the intersection of 107th Avenue and 106th Street.
Police say the two male drivers got out of their vehicles and started fighting. The incident escalated when one of the men allegedly grabbed a baseball bat from his vehicle and started hitting the other driver, police said.
The altercation ended when some Alberta sheriffs stopped and arrested the man wielding the bat. They held him until police arrived at the scene.
The accused is charged with assault, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon dangerous to the public.
The man who was struck sustained minor injuries.
