The fate of Real Honorio is now in the hands of a Calgary jury.
The 28-year-old man faces first-degree murder charges for the 2009 New Year's Day deaths of three people at the Bolsa Restaurant in southeast Calgary.
Sanjeev Mann, 22, a known gang member, and Aaron Bendle, 21, an associate, were targeted in the attack.
Keni Su’a, a 43-year-old construction worker and innocent bystander, also died that day. He was eating in the restaurant and tried to escape but was beaten and gunned down in the parking lot.
As the jury was sequestered Tuesday, the judge released a videotaped confession by Real Honorio to the media.
Two others, Nathan Zuccherato and Michael Roberto, have already been convicted of three counts of first-degree murder for the crime.
If found guilty, Honorio faces an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 25 years.
