An unprecedented full-scale search conducted just west of Beiseker, Alta., for a Calgary man who went missing in February(external link) came to an end Sunday without closure.
More than 100 people, including police and volunteers, were looking for the remains of 24-year-old Ryan Lane.
Police believe Lane may be the victim of a homicide and have information they hope will lead them to his body somewhere within a 24-square-kilometer area.
The massive search effort included a canine unit, mounted unit and helicopter.
Police say the terrain is difficult to search, as it is dotted with gravel pits, farmer's fields, tall grassy sections and a river.
Investigators have identified suspects they believe are involved in Lane's disappearance, but say those suspects have not been co-operative with police.
Lane's parents made a tearful plea for answers(external link) on Friday.
