Calgary police have located the skeletal remains of 24-year-old Ryan Lane, who was last seen in the early morning hours of Feb. 7 near Country Hills Boulevard in the city's northwest.
Police are not saying where or when Lane's remains were found, but they are now officially declaring his death a homicide.
Staff Sgt. Grant Miller says police are expecting to lay first-degree murder charges against the two men and one woman.
"We continue to put the final pieces together — I am sure you can appreciate this is a very complicated case," Miller told reporters Thursday.
Miller says Lane's family will speak to the media on Friday.
"They're relieved, encouraged, disappointed — all emotions like that," he said.
