A southern Alberta woman whose father was recently murdered says she's overwhelmed by the community support she's received.
The body of 77-year-old Otto Loose was found in a wooded area(external link) near Claresholm last Monday.
The man charged with the murder, 35-year-old Timmy Douglas Engel, made a brief appearance by closed-circuit television in a Lethbridge court Monday morning.

Loose's daughter, Lavonda Justinick, was in the courtroom.
She says there have been many offers of help during this difficult time.
"Everybody is feeling your pain, and they’re supporting you and trying to help you out any way they possibly can, and that’s just the way it is," said Justinick.
Justinick says she plans to follow the court proceedings closely.
"I'm angry now," she said. "So that's where I'm going to direct my energy — into seeing that justice is served."
Engel, who does not yet have a lawyer, will be back in court on Feb. 27.
