Thunder Bay police have laid charges in connection with the death of an inmate at the Correctional Centre.

Adam Mark Capey, 19, of Lac Seul is charged with first degree murder and appeared before a judge Tuesday.

On Sunday Sherman Kirby Quisses, 35, was hurt in an altercation Sunday. He died from his injuries Monday morning at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre.

Capey will return to court Wednesday.
