2010 triple shooting was drug related, Winnipeg police say

A triple shooting in Winnipeg's north end remains unsolved, but police say they believe the crimes were related to the illicit drug trade.
The shootings, in an area known as Stella Walk, happened in less than one hour and left two men dead and injured a 13-year-old girl, who was shot in the stomach.
Police have not made any arrests but said Friday they believe the three shootings are related and that two of the homes where the shootings took place were targeted.
"Investigators believe that those residences were targeted due to the drug subculture in the north end of the city," Winnipeg police Sgt. Ross Read said Friday.
Police also said that the same suspect was described at all three shootings, being a young man in his teens or early 20's, with a skinny build and riding a BMX style bicycle.
Police are asking anyone who may have information about the crimes, to contact them.
