The funeral for a cyclist who died while riding along Queen Street is set for Saturday.
Danielle Naçu, 33, was travelling between Metcalfe and O'Connor streets in downtown Ottawa around 9 a.m. Tuesday when she collided with a car door(external link).
Witnesses said the door of the car, which was parked in a legal parking spot, opened and Naçu ran into it, falling into the path of a car travelling behind her.
Naçu was treated by paramedics and transported to hospital, but she was later pronounced dead.
Naçu's family has arranged a visitation for 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday at Kelly's Funeral Home at 585 Somerset St. W.
The funeral will take place at All Saints' Sandy Hill Anglican Church at 1:30 p.m.
There will also be viewing services in Mississauga, Ont., next Thursday from 7-9 p.m. at St. Thomas à Beckett Anglican Church. A second funeral will be next Friday at 11 a.m. also at the same church.
Naçu is from the Toronto area and her family travelled to Ottawa from Toronto and Brampton Wednesday to start organizing the services and meet with her friends.
People continue to add to a ghost bike memorial near where the former immigration officer died. There is also a memorial ride planned(external link) in her honour for Tuesday at 9 a.m. starting at Bronson Avenue and Queen Street.
