Machel Rayner does more than sling coffee at the Tim Hortons coffee shop at the Aquarena in St. John's.

During every shift, Rayner — a kinesiology student at Memorial University — sings for customers, with an unbridled joy.

"I like to see people smile," said Rayner, a former entertainment co-ordinator at a resort in Jamaica.
