Best in Miniature is back! In the most epic miniature showdown yet, watch as ten elite artists from across Canada and beyond pour their hearts and souls into creating miniature fantasy houses one tiny room at a time. Each week one miniaturist will be sent home while the others continue to compete.

What happens in Season 3 of Best in Miniature?
The bar has been raised for Season 3. The miniaturists have had the benefit of seeing two seasons of the show and came to the competition prepared. You'll see new styles of houses, more storytelling and some new rooms added to the series.
Gone are the old traditional dollhouses of the past. Now that our miniaturists represent a variety of cultures, look for new styles of homes and furniture.
Who is the host?
Aba Amuquandoh is back as host of Best in Miniature Season 3. You'll recognize her as a writer/performer with the Canadian comedy award-winning cast of This Hour Has 22 Minutes on CBC, as the youngest ever featured player.
Who are the judges?
After leaving a successful corporate banking career of 30 years, UK-based artist Emma Wadell has done everything from shop displays to photo shoots. She also started her business Dolls House Grand Designs over 14 years ago and has been professionally decorating dollhouses, restoring antique heirloom pieces, as well as interior designing high-end commissions, now with a two-year waiting list.
Micheal Lambie is a design expert, entrepreneur, public speaker and multi-faceted artist with experience in graphic design and visual arts from Toronto, Canada. In 2011, he founded Micheal Lambie Interiors, which creates elegant and contemporary spaces for residential and commercial clients and is now an award-winning interior design firm. For the past four years, this Ontario College of Art and Design alumni has been sharing his talents as a 'Design Expert' on Canada's top lifestyle television show, CityLine.
Who are Season 3 miniaturists?
Susan Canaday Henry was a New York graphic artist who moved to Las Vegas with her husband. There she became a fundraiser for Nevada Public Radio and taught drawing classes at the University of Nevada at Las Vegas. She discovered her love for miniatures when she found a dusty old dollhouse in downtown Las Vegas and has since devoted herself to collecting tiny houses and creating eclectic and unexpected miniature settings.
Shelley Acker, from Kentville, Nova Scotia, has been making miniatures for almost 25 years. She is the owner of Freedom Miniatures, a full-service miniatures and hobbies store. Shelley's skills in miniatures were showcased as one of two Art Directors on the 2022 multi-award-winning documentary feature film Bernie Langille Wants to Know What Happened to Bernie Langille a production by Peep Media of Halifax, NS.
August Riche is a Haitian-American miniaturist from Queens, NY. She exhibits at renowned venues like Trap Art Museum and Museum of Design Atlanta. August's work has caught the attention of celebrities like Alicia Keys and Lady Gaga, who have custom works of hers.
Jen Arnold from Winnipeg, Manitoba started working as an artist at 12. While she began her journey by making jewellery, Jen fell in love with creating micro miniatures in her late 30s. A full-time social worker, she finds strength building hand-held objects and considers her art as her form of self-care.
Nalini Sookdeo is an American-born Trinidadian who began working on miniatures in the fall of 2018. Nalini works full-time as a trauma-informed clinical social worker and makes art to decompress and be creative. She now sees miniatures as her forever hobby.
Mike Fraysher is a highly acclaimed miniaturist who has gained recognition for his exceptional skill in creating hyper-realistic miniatures. Combining traditional handcrafted techniques with cutting-edge technologies like CNC machining, laser cutting, and 3D printing and design, he creates astonishingly lifelike miniatures that are almost indistinguishable from their full-scale counterparts.
Tiffany Monk is a versatile multidisciplinary artist with a background in prop making, sculpting and model making for film, TV and stop-motion animation. From the UK, she discovered her love for miniatures when she moved to Canada, settling in Sutton, Quebec. She's worked on many film and TV projects including John Carter and The 100. The creation of miniatures provides her with the opportunity to merge her artistic vision with her model-making skills.
Lance Cardinal is a First Nations, 2-Spirit artist, designer, and television personality from the Bigstone Cree Nation in Treaty 8 territory. He has quickly become one of Alberta's leading First Nation artists and entrepreneurs. His bright and colourful designs are featured in public spaces, schools, crosswalks, and skyscrapers all over Alberta.
Elliott Langford is a skilled UK miniature artist with a passion for all things creepy, horror, and dark. With a keen eye for detail and a creative mind, he specializes in creating miniatures that send shivers down your spine and transport you into a world of eerie fascination. For the past four years, he has dedicated time to try and master various techniques and materials, enabling him to bring his haunting visions to life on a tiny scale.
Arline Smith was born in the UK and now lives in Port Hope, Ontario. A many-faceted artist, she has spent the past fifty years creating everything from a pea to an elephant. Since moving to Canada in 1980, she worked as a prop and special effects artist in the film industry. She made jewellery for the movie Deceived, and body parts for films such as Jacob's Ladder and Legends of the Fall, before building what is believed to be the smallest performance of the ballet Giselle in the world, which was shown on the CBC.
What is the prize?
The winner claims a prestigious residency and a $10,000 cash prize.
