This August on CBC Gem: Acclaimed series, new films and live sports

CBC Gem has added a ton of new titles to its growing library including acclaimed series, new films, special Emancipation Day programming and more.

Joining CBC Gem in August is the acclaimed series,13-time Prix Gémeaux-nominated second season of C'est Comme Ça Que Je T'aime (Happily Married) and exclusive Canadian premieres of scripted reality/comedy Bobby & Harriet Get Married that follows stand-up comedians Bobby Mair and Harriet Kemsley as they plan their big day. CBC's flagship streaming service also welcomes several new titles to an exclusive collection of Canadian films. Look for Monkey Beach, Through the Black Spruce from Don McKellar and starring Tanaya Beatty and Brandon Oakes, and Splinters from acclaimed director Thom Fitzgerald who returns to queer rural Nova Scotia.

In addition, you won't want to miss the live coverage of the 2022 Commonwealth games and CBC's special Emancipation Day Collection (August 1), featuring an unprecedented two-part, two-hour special featuring inspiring performances from Jully Black, Zaki Ibrahim, Shad, Measha Brueggergosman and Red Sky Performance.
