What happened with the 'chicken girl' from Family Feud Canada?
She never got $10,000 worth of fried chicken. Popeyes gave her something much better instead.
What is Popeye's favourite food?
When Eve Dubois' family made it to the sudden death round on Family Feud Canada, her confident "Chickennn!" answer lost her family's chance at winning $10,000. Her family was shaking their heads in disappointment, but the audience was delighted. As the rest of the world shared the moment with laugh/cry emojis, Eve's answer went viral.
The woman from a small town in Manitoba became a worldwide sensation as the clip garnered millions of views across social media. After appearing in headlines in CNN, Newsweek and many more news and comedy sites, Popeyes Chicken offered Eve $10,000 of fried chicken at their restaurants.
But what happened after the chickens came home to roost?
In the video above, Family Feud Canada host Gerry Dee chats with Eve Dubois over a Zoom call to catch up with what's happened since her big moment at the beginning of the year.
Oh, and the cheque for $10,000 worth of fried chicken? It didn't happen the way Eve thought it would (that would be a lot of chicken). Popeyes had a much better gift in store for her: an actual cheque for $10,000 real dollars, with a note that read: "We thought your answer was right, we hope you buy as much chicken as you want."
