Eligibility | Frequently Asked Questions

Eligibility

  • You must be a team of 5 educators working in the same school and residing permanently in Canada.

  • You must be a Canadian Citizen or permanent resident or have permission to work within Canada.

  • Contestants must be 18 years or older as of September 1, 2023.

  • You are not eligible if you have participated in more than two (2) game shows in the last year.

  • If you or anyone on your team has appeared on any version of Family Feud before, it must be ten (10) years since the prior appearance to be eligible to play again.

  • You are not eligible if anyone on the team knows or is related to anyone employed by Fremantle Media, Zone3, Canadian Broadcast Corporation (CBC), any affiliate that carries Family Feud, Gerry Dee Productions, sponsors of Family Feud and/or of their respective parent, subsidiary or affiliated companies, licensees, or partners.

FAQ

IS THERE A DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS FOR TEACHER'S WEEK?

Yes!  Applications must be submitted before FRIDAY, JUNE 30TH, 2023, to be considered.

HOW CAN I SEND MY AUDITION VIDEO? 

Fill out the application, follow the steps, and upload a video directly to your application. Be creative, have fun and tell us why your team of teachers deserves a chance to play the feud!

WHAT SHOULD WE DO IN OUR VIDEO?

It's all about making your team stand out! Introduce your team and each educator. We'd love to hear about your school, its location in Canada, what makes your team/school unique, and why you're proud to represent it. We want to see how energetic and enthusiastic you are. Give us a reason why your educators would be awesome on the Feud! Aim for 3-5 minutes in length.

ARE THERE GOING TO BE AUDITIONS IN MY CITY?

Unfortunately, we do not host in-person auditions nationwide.  Producers are conducting interviews and group calls virtually!

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

If your application appeals to the program, producers will contact you to book a virtual audition with your family members.  

WHAT HAPPENS DURING VIRTUAL AUDITIONS?

Teams will gather via Zoom or phone from their own homes. Producers will ask questions and play a mock game of Family Feud. More information on how to prepare for an audition will be shared with your team once a virtual audition date and time has been confirmed.

WHAT ARE THE PRODUCERS LOOKING FOR?

We are looking for teams with personality, energy, enthusiasm, a competitive spirit and an ability to play the game!

WHAT CAN MY TEAM DO TO STAND OUT?

Smile, clap, high-five, cheer for each other, and have FUN! Tell us why your team of educators is more than just work colleagues! Tell us unique and funny stories about your school, students and team members! Show off any special talents you might have!

IF/AFTER I AUDITION... THEN WHAT?

It is anticipated that Family Feud Canada will be taping shows in Toronto from August through October 2023. If selected from the virtual auditions, the producers will contact you and discuss the next steps with your team. Travel and lodging expenses are covered by productions when necessary and as determined by the producers.
