After an intense competition on Week 4 of Battle of the Blades, two pairs were sent home.

A historic tie in Week 3 saw all seven pairs stay in the competition, but the fun couldn't last.

This week's Skate Off featured three pairs fighting to remain on the ice:

  • Vanessa James and Akim Aliu
  • Andrew Poje and Meghan Agosta
  • Eric Radford and Jennifer Botterill

In the end, Vanessa James and Akim Aliu scored highest in the Skate Off with a 17.4, keeping them safe for another week.

Andrew Poje and Meghan Agosta and Eric Radford and Jennifer Botterill are heading home, their Battle of the Blades journey over for Season 6.

Week 4's theme was "Canadian Hits," each pair skated to a song by a Canadian artist.

Andrew Poje and Meghan Agosta

Andrew and Meghan earned a 17.0 for their performance to "Mine" by Felix Cartel & Sophie Simmons.

Judge Natalie Spooner praised Meghan's smile and ease on this ice this week. "It looked like you were having fun and it allowed us to really enjoy that performance," she said. "And that last lift; I have no idea how that got up, but I thought you were defying gravity!"

Meghan and Andrew were competing on behalf of the BC Children's Hospital, a leader in general and specialized pediatric services, and the province's foremost teaching and research facility for child health.
