Canada opened the challenge trophy quarter-final with a 19-0 loss to Scotland but rebounded for a 31-19 win over France in their following match.
In the 13th place game, Canada fell 21-15 to Samoa.
Canada was eliminated from Cup contention after placing third in Pool A.
The Canadians began pool play with a 19-19 tie against Australia, followed by a 28-21 loss to the United States and a 47-5 win against Uruguay.
