Chappuis leads standings after Nordic combined win

Olympic and world champion Jason Lamy Chappuis of France won a Nordic combined World Cup event Sunday to overtake Germany's Tino Edelmann at the top of the standings.

Chappuis finished in 22 minutes 7.4 seconds to edge Magnus Krog of Norway by 0.4 seconds. Austria's Mario Stecher was another 0.2 back in third.

Edelmann, who led after the jumps, posted the 32rd fastest time in the 10-kilometre cross country race to finish fourth, 1.2 behind Lamy Chappuis.

After six events, Lamy Chappuis has 354 points, four clear of Edelmann. Krog is third with 275.

The Nordic combined World Cup continues in Seefeld, Austria, next week.
