Jukasa Studios brings a piece of Abbey Road to Six Nations

On Six Nations, surrounded by trees and fields, sits a multi-million dollar recording studio. Sounds impressive right? What is even more impressive is the musical talent that has recorded there.

Artists like Snoop Dog, Protest the Hero, The Sheepdogs and Alexisonfire have all made the trip out to make music at Jukasa Studios.

But perhaps the most impressive thing about this space, besides the fact that it is Indigenous-owned, is the soundboard. Several years back, the Indigenous-owned studio Jukasa bought a soundboard from Abbey Road Studios in London. A popular recording spot for acts like Pink Floyd and The Beatles — is even inspired an album title for the Fab Four. 

Mohawk musician Logan Staats can be found hanging out at the studio most days, he recently helped launch a radio station called Jukasa Radio that airs out of the space.
