Indigenous stories from the field: Lessons learned from the rez, a river and a canoe

From time to time, Unreserved visits communities to meet people where they live. Today on the show, three stories of people on personal, and cultural, journeys.

CBC's Kyle Muzyka went on a personal journey to kaniyasik culture camp, where he learned how to build a canoe with Cree teacher Kevin Lewis. Tune in to hear the profound lessons he learned along the way. 

Drag the Red is a group of volunteers who search the banks and the muddy waters of the Red River in Winnipeg for the missing. A few years ago, Rosanna Deerchild searched alongside the volunteers, an experience that has stayed with her ever since. 

Fynnley Pearson is an energetic boy with blue eyes and blond hair, who also happens to be a status Indian. In 2016, his mom, CBC's Meagan Fiddler took him on his first trip to Garden Hill First Nation, for his grandfather's 92nd birthday.
