Poet, artist and musician Ian Keteku is a World Slam Poetry Champion with two spoken-word albums under his belt. He recently read On Looking: 11 Walks With Expert Eyes by Alexandra Horowitz.

"This book is an introspective look on what it means to stop and smell the roses, what it means to stop and look around the environment that we're in. The writer goes on walks a few blocks around her place in Manhattan. She goes on walks with different people. One day, she goes on a walk with her three -year-old toddler son and she notices what he notices. She writes down what he sees. She pays attention to the kind of attention that he's paying to the world around him. She goes on a walk with a botanist. She goes on a walk with a poet. She walks with different people from different walks of life and different backgrounds, discovering how they see the world around them. How do they interpret these few blocks in Manhattan? She asks us and implores us to really stop. Sit. Walk. And observe the world around us."
