Tyrell Johnson is the author of the novel The Wolves of Winter, a post-apocalyptic survival story set in Yukon. One of his favourite books is Patrick Rothfuss's The Name of the Wind, the first novel in the The Kingkiller Chronicle.
Holding a world together
"One book that I continually go back to is The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss. I grew up reading fantasy and this is some of the most interesting fantasy out there today. It's about a young man essentially seeking revenge from these characters who have killed his family. He ends up at a school where he learns a type of magic that is sort of science-based. Slowly, he uncovers more about the people who killed his family and the legend about them. I love the world, the characters and the story where they all come together in a really compelling way."
