Janet Marie Rogers is a very busy woman. She hosts two radio programs in British Columbia, one of them on CFUV in Victoria called Native Waves Radio. She writes and performs poetry. She's a drum maker and a teacher. And she's midway through her term as Victoria's poet laureate.
Janet is Mohawk/ Tuscarora from Six Nations territory in Ontario. Fellow poet Daniel David Moses describes Janet as a spiritual descendant of the Mohawk poet Pauline Johnson. Janet's most recent collection of poems is called Unearthed.
