Jan Stick is the co-owner of Well-Read Books, a used bookstore based in Whitehorse. Celebrating its 20th anniversary in 2019, the Yukon store describes itself as the territories' only used bookstore specializing in hard-to-find books.

Stick tells The Next Chapter there are two books in particular that customers and staff are looking for.

Songs of the Yukon by Robert Service

Robert William Service was a British-Canadian poet and author. (William Briggs, Submitted by Jan Stick)

"I always like to point out our Robert Service collection. It's quite extensive and we've had signed books and first editions. One of my favourite books is a tiny little Robert Service book called Songs of the Yukon. It's a small book and bound in leather from 1903. It has in it two of his poems, Songs of the Yukon and The Cremation of Sam McGee. It's actually my favourite book in the whole store. It's a sweet little book."

Fractured Veins & Broken Dreams by Murray Lundberg

Whitehorse-based Murray Lundberg is author of Fractured Veins & Broken Dreams. (Pathfinder Publications, Wayne Vallevand/CBC )

" Another book that people are quite often looking for is called Fractured Veins & Broken Dreams by Murray Lundberg. It's nonfiction about following the Klondike Gold Rush. It's a limited edition and there were only a thousand of these books printed. It's a treasure map."
