Singer-songwriter and musician Lindsey Ell grew up in Calgary and began her music career in her teens. About a decade ago, she moved to Nashville, where she still lives and records.
One book that Ell is currently reading is You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. She dropped by The Next Chapter to tell us why.
"The book is all about finding your personal best — and not letting other people and other people's judgments of you affect how you view yourself.
"Being a musician and being in the music industry, a lot of that self-reflection is a huge part of my job. The way you talk to yourself — the self-talk that you do — is so important and so crucial. The minute I started reading this book, I realized it is exactly what I need to hear. It's so motivational without being cheesy."
