Joanna Goodman is the author of the novel The Home for Unwanted Girls, which is based on a period in Quebec history when unwed mothers were forced to give their children up for adoption.
A book Goodman returns to again and again is On Writing by Stephen King.
"A book that I go back to again and again and again is On Writing by Stephen King. It sits beside my bed. Whenever I'm stuck, uninspired or haven't written in a long time, I pick up that book. I read it and it inevitably gets me back at the laptop, typing away and writing.
