Why the possibility of life on another planet inspires singer-songwriter Jadea Kelly
When award-winning musician Jadea Kelly isn't touring, she loves to crack open a thought-provoking book. Right now she's reading Mirror Earth: The Search for Our Planet's Twin by Michael D. Lemonick — a book about the race to discover a planet parallel to our own.
I've always been very fascinated with space. I think there are so many advances happening. There is this desire to know where we are in the universe. What are we doing here? Why are we so isolated? We want more answers. We want to go beyond the moon and we want to go to Mars. We are getting to the point where we are wondering that maybe it is possible that life has developed somewhere else. It's not just a science fiction idea. It is hugely possible.
There is so much beauty out there and I think the job of the songwriter is to pull inspiration from it. There are so many beautiful colours and possibilities out there.
